Setpoint

Privacy policy

_Last updated 19 September 2026. Draft prepared for legal review before public launch; it describes how Setpoint actually works today._

Who we are

Setpoint is a household finance planning application operated by Curtis Company (the "operator"). Questions about this policy go to the operator at the contact address at the end of this page.

What Setpoint stores

Setpoint stores the information you enter so it can project your household's cash flow forward:

  • Household set-up: household name, members, filing status and the tax settings you choose.
  • Accounts and starting balances, flows (income, expenses, transfers), logic rules, objectives, setpoints and scenarios.
  • Saved snapshots and the revision history of your model, so changes can be undone and compared.
  • Your sign-in email address and the sessions and passkeys you register.
  • An audit log of security-relevant actions on your household (sign-ins, invitations, exports, deletions) with timestamps.

Setpoint does not ask for, and you should not enter, bank credentials, card numbers or government identifiers. There is no link to your bank; every figure is one you typed or Setpoint projected from it.

What Setpoint does with it

Your data is used only to run the projection you asked for, show it back to you, and keep your household's members in sync. Setpoint does not sell, rent or share household data with advertisers or data brokers, and does not use it to train models.

Projections are computed in your browser from the data you entered. The operator's servers store the model and serve it back to your household's members.

Who can see it

  • Members of your household, according to the roles you assign.
  • The operator, only when needed to keep the service running (for example, restoring a backup or investigating an error you report). Reading a household's figures is not part of routine operation.
  • Service providers that host the application and database (Vercel and Supabase), which process data on the operator's behalf under their own terms.

Setpoint does not disclose your data to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

Setpoint sets one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Error monitoring

If error monitoring is enabled, technical error reports (stack traces, route, browser type) may be sent to the operator's error-monitoring service. Financial figures and personal fields are stripped from those reports before they leave the application.

Backups and retention

The database is backed up so a fault can be recovered. Backups are kept for a limited period and then discarded. Deleting your household removes it from the live database immediately; it leaves backups as they expire.

Your choices

  • Export: you can download your household model at any time from Settings.
  • Delete: you can delete your household from Settings; this is permanent.
  • Sessions: you can sign out other devices and remove passkeys from Settings.

Children

Setpoint is for adults managing a household and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change and the new text will be posted here.
